When it comes to renovating the kitchen, some of us want something different than the traditional cabinets, appliances and -in Kris O’Meara’s case- layout that we’re all so accustom to. Take a look at her restaurant style kitchen featured on HGTV.com.
“How can I get a kitchen like Kris O’Meara’s?” you ask? What a great question!
Restaurant kitchens are designed to conquer the food cooking process, so their features are over the top. Take a look at the image below. The sink faucet is a perfect example of the features a restaurant style kitchen should have.
You may notice some similarities in the picture below and the picture above. That’s right… they have the same style faucets. They also both have bistro style lighting. Lighting is an easy way to completely change the atmosphere of a room and the kitchen is no exception. For a restaurant style look choose simple commercial inspired lighting.
If there’s one material that will transform your traditional kitchen into a restaurant style kitchen it’s stainless steel. In the picture below you can see that the designer for this space went all out and even kept the stainless steel theme going for the countertops and up the wall. Not ready to go all out? You can replace your current appliances with stainless appliances to make a dramatic impact on your kitchen’s style without committing to a wall of steel.
In Kris’ kitchen you may have noticed her two kitchen tables. The space below also features more than one table as well as a mixture of stools and chairs. In fact, this kitchen encompasses all of the décor that pulls a restaurant style kitchen together- hanging pots and pans, open air shelving, stainless appliances, an oversized sink, bistro style lighting and industrial elements.
